Also the powerup (not the one replacing the 1-up) is omitted. Also, if it is a mushroom, you will need to choose between either the mushroom or the coin bonus, but you can't do both. Super Mario Bros., the 1-up mushroom is only a power-up. The first green pipe leads to coin room B.And beware! If you don't watch where you're going, you might wind up as lunch for a Piranha Flower. If you fail or you are small, the only way to get the 1-up mushroom is to chase it until there is a break in the ceiling.A 1-up mushroom will appear let it fall to the ground. Jump straight up, as high as you can, and hit the block next to the gap you opened. Jump to the right a little and hit the block one space to the right of the edge of the platform you are on, making sure you land back on the platform. Get the coins, go to the far right block and stand on the edge. Hop onto the block to the left of the pit, then jump to the block with 6 coins. And the one next to that contains a 10-coin block in the 2nd lower right position. The block next to the coin contains a power up.Or that the game was simply worth the money. I do wish the flying ability from SMB3 was featured. The giant Mario thing is cool but it lasts for 5 seconds. Maybe it's because I played this so soon after the GBA version of SMB3 or maybe it's because it's just so damn short and never really gets going, but I was just so let down by New Super Mario Bros.

There's only about half the amount featured on SM64 DS too. And the so-called 'ton' of mini-games is a bold-faced lie since most of them are the exact same ones featured on Super Mario 64 DS and only about 2 aren't. Only a sad, pathetic loser would do something like that. I'm not going to waste my time doing over a level I have already completed just for the sake of unlocking a new background. I don't buy into all this 'unlockable' crap and the bonus stuff in New Super Mario Bros. For a start, the game is just too damn short and too damn easy with nothing much to make you continue playing. But I honestly can't see what all the fuss is about.

I was so looking forward to this game, with the great reviews and cool-looking graphics and all.
